In five short years, Parsons grad Joanne Cordero Reyes had already designed for luxury labels J. Mendel, Reem Acra, and Monique Lhuiller when she decided to launch her own line, Vicente Villarin. Named after the designer's grandfather, a traveling musician, the line promises to combine excellence in craftsmanship and materials with classic yet modern styles. For Spring/Summer 08, that has manifested itself as a variety of bolero jackets, with and without collars; fluffy dresses and tops built up from layers of sheer white cotton hanging from the tiniest of spaghetti straps; and a series of sharply tailored pencil skirts, narrow dresses, and blazers.via Refinery29
